It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a...bug?! No, it's just SZA on Hot Ones.

The singer arrived at the chicken wing talk show in prosthetics that transformed the top half of her face into that of an insect. Hot Ones typically elicits weird responses from guests, but SZA certainly ups the ante. Not only does she nonchalantly explain her choice to wear artificial bug eyes and antennae ("I'm tired of not being a bug"), but she also puts host Sean Evans in the hot seat.

In true SZA fashion, she asks his birth time to try and figure out the astrological reasoning behind why he tortures his guests.

But even hidden behind those big, plastic eyes, SZA still offers insight into her creative process and what songs always bring her back to the emotional state she wrote them in. Hint: "Drew Barrymore" is one.
